Good morning, Friends! Tomorrow starts a new month of savings at HEB, so I’m looking forward to discovering what awesome deals are in store for us. I’ll report on October's special savings in the coming days.
My HEB seems to be getting a little more difficult to deal with when it comes to couponing. Last week, my cashier thoroughly examined each coupon and had to get manager approval before scanning my coupons.com and Smart Source printables. The cashier was very polite and explained that each employee was being held accountable for the coupons that came through their register. We need to remember that a difficult-to-deal-with cashier might be dealing with pressure from management. Treat them with kindness, and they will do their best to help us out.
“In other news”, as they say, kiddos in our schools are starting to drop like flies. It’s definitely time to get vigilant about hand washing and safety procedures. I’ve reminded my daughters NOT to share drinks & food with friends or each other and to wash their hands regularly and thoroughly. The local pediatrician is being very proactive by keeping kids at home for 5 days past onset of fever if there is a flu diagnosis. Looks like it’s going to be a bumpy ride!
That being said, it’s time for us mamas to take a minute and review pantry and medicine supplies. Do you have enough ibuprofen, acetaminophen, Theraflu, pepto bismol, or anti-nausea meds? What about toilet paper and Kleenex? You might need to add comfort foods like chicken soup, fruit cocktail, applesauce, fruit juice, frozen fruit pops, and ginger ale to your stash. Don’t forget anti-bac hand washing soap, Clorox wipes, and spray disinfectant. It’s time to check your coupon stash and head out to the store to stock up.

My frustration with HEB here in Abilene is I do my best to use their deals like this months buy 20 yoplaits and get $2 off Organic Milk. But then after a over $200 purchase I get NO coupons. I did stand in line at customer service at showed them my reciept and got $2 in cash but seriously how many other coupons did I lose!?
